Help with Health Bridge.

Use this page to check connection, permission, and sync issues for the read-only Apple Health companion. Keep support requests privacy-safe: do not send real health values, pairing tokens, receiver credentials, or private receiver URLs unless a private support channel specifically asks for them.

Basic setup checklist

  1. Install or open the Health Bridge companion app on your iPhone.
  2. Pair the app with the receiver URL that you control.
  3. Grant only the Apple Health permissions you want the app to read.
  4. Run a manual sync and confirm the receiver reports a successful batch.
  5. Review the receiver's stored data and delete anything you do not want to keep.

Apple Health permissions

Health Bridge receives Apple Health access through Apple's system permission interface. If a supported data category is missing, check both the app and Apple Health permission state.

  • Open the Apple Health app.
  • Open your profile picture or account area.
  • Go to privacy settings for apps and select Health Bridge.
  • Review which categories are allowed or denied.

Revoking a category prevents future reads for that category. It does not automatically delete records that were already synced to a receiver you control.

Receiver connection issues

If sync fails, check the receiver before changing HealthKit permissions.

  • Confirm the receiver is running and reachable from the iPhone.
  • Prefer HTTPS for receiver URLs when possible.
  • Confirm the receiver token or pairing material is current.
  • Check whether local network, VPN, firewall, or Tailscale settings changed.
  • If the receiver moved, disconnect and pair the new receiver URL.

Sync status and pending data

The app may keep limited local state such as receiver settings, sync status, and pending retry data. If a receiver was offline, the app may retry a queued batch later.

  • Use the app's disconnect control to remove saved receiver settings.
  • Use a clear-pending-data control, if available, to remove unsent retry payloads.
  • Delete the app from the device if you want to remove its local app container.

Deleting synced data

Health Bridge does not operate a central hosted health-data account by default. Data already sent to your receiver should be deleted from that receiver or database directly.

If you previously emailed support and want that support message deleted, contact healthbridge@chanhyo.dev from the same address and describe the message you want removed.

What Health Bridge is not

Health Bridge is not a diagnosis, treatment, emergency, or clinical decision-making tool. It does not promise that background sync is always immediate; iOS controls when background refresh opportunities run.
